WIRES members Special General Meeting

26 July 2025 – Results

Thank you to members that participated in the meeting and polling with resolutions to remove four WIRES directors.

371 members voted.The results showed resounding support for the removal of each of the directors with some showing slightly stronger support than others.

Given that WIRES correspondence sent immediately prior to the SGM encouraged members not to attend, it is important to note a large number of WIRES members made a concerted effort to ensure their voice was heard.

We believe the four board members should now step aside in good faith, and permit a new Board to see WIRES through the next crucial period of constitutional reforms and the confirmation all persons who were members of the Association, are recognised as members of the new Company limited by guarantee.

Thank you everyone for continuing to fight for what volunteers in WIRES deserve – governance that is fair, ethical and collaborative.

Next steps will be dependent on the WIRES management but we hope members wishes are observed and acted upon.
